Winnetta Braaksma, age 95, of Randolph, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, July 28, 2023, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with her family by her side.
Winnetta was born on February 8, 1928, daughter of August and Jessie (Dykstra) Posthuma. She looked forward to spending time with her friends, going out for lunch and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was her family, she will be deeply missed by many.
Winnetta is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Schumann of Merrimac, WI and Marlene (Randy) Alsum of Randolph; step daughter, Debra Wolff and her daughter, Valerie; six grandchildren, Carla (Andy) Easland, Jeff Schumann, Tammie (Tom) Tietz, Darren (Jerilyn) Alsum, Tanya (Jason) Stiemsma and Derick Alsum; nine great grandchildren, Hailey and Ella Schumann, Kiana, Kayah and Casen Tietz, Colton and Piper Alsum, Tyler and Kylah Stiemsma and two step great grandchildren, Caden and Sienna Easland; sister, Evelyn Lively of Beaver Dam; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Norris Tamminga in 1964; husband Walter Braaksma in 1991 and her son, James Tamminga; siblings, Margaret (Henry) White, Henry (Leona) Posthuma and Juliette Posthuma; brother-in-law, Jerry Lively.
A private service will be held.
