Willard Hugh Rose

Willard Hugh Rose, age 88 of Markesan, passed away on Sunday, July23, 2017, at the Markesan Resident Home.

Willard was born on September 13, 1928 in Poynette, WI, a son of Willard "Lyle" and Minnie (Milke) Rose. On October 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Esther Miller in Dubuque, IA. He was an avid reader and wood worker. After retiring from Del Monte, Willard enjoyed traveling with his wife. He loved spending time with his family.

Willard is survived by three children, Wayne Rose of Fond du Lac, Dennis Rose of Markesan and Sheryl (Michael) Burmeister of Markesan; two grandchildren, Jessica (fiance, Andrew Fischer) and Ryan Burmeister; honorary child, Julie (Rick) Leu; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his parents; a son, David Rose; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Rose; three sisters, Carol Howard, Sally (Charlie) Schultz and Jean (Dick) Hadden.

Visitation for Willard will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan and on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

A funeral service for Willard will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Markesan Community Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Poynette.

A memorial fund has been established in Willard's name.
