Walter Gustav Otto, age 93 of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Martha’s in Princeton with loving family at his side.
Wally was born on June 25, 1925, in the township of Mecan, a son of Gustav and Ella (Henke) Otto. On April 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to Claris Schwandt in Manchester, WI. Wally worked for FS Co-op for many years until his retirement and farmed in the area for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, deer hunting and gardening. Wally was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Princeton.
Wally is survived by two daughters, Candi (Kevin) Calbaum of Neshkoro and Robin (Dennis) Scott of Ripon; son-in-law, Dan Davison of Markesan; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) Strzelecki, Theresa (Kyle) Henslin, Ben Scott, Jason (Cassie) Calbaum, Jamie Scott, Megan Calbaum and Nick Davison; 2 great-grandsons, Parker Henslin and Maverick Strzelecki; 1 great-granddaughter, Charlotte Henslin; 3 brothers, Marvin (Shirley) Otto, Arlon (Glenda) Otto and Lester Otto; two sisters, Lorraine Otto and LaVerne (Gary) Dean; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claris; a daughter, Teri Davison; 1 sister, Evelyn (Clarence) Harke; a brother, Edward (Bonnie) Otto and 2 sisters-in-law, Lois (Al) Sixt and Pat Otto.
Visitation for Wally will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton Street, Princeton, and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at church.
A funeral service for Wally will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at church with Pastor John Stelter officiating. Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Wally’s name.
Markesan Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
