Violet "Vi" Wilkinson

Violet Borchardt Wilkinson, age 99 of Waupun, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Christian Home in Waupun.

Vi was born on October 17, 1918 in the town of Springvale, Fond du Lac County, a daughter of August and Matilda (Schmidt) Borchardt. On April 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Melvin Wilkinson in Rosendale. Vi was a graduate of Madison Academy of Beauty Culture and a beautician for 40 years. She served as a 4H leader in Fond du Lac County for 11 years and volunteered at Fond du Lac County Senior Center for over 20 years. Vi was a Sunday school teacher at Peace Lutheran in Rosendale and volunteered for several area organizations. Vi was a former member of Rising Sun Grange in Ladoga and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Rachel Circle in Waupun.

Vi is survived by her son, David (Diane) Wilkinson of Deerfield and daughter, Kay (Steven) Sheppard of Clovis, CA; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; 3 sisters, Dorothy Roesner, Emma Henell and Elsie Schultz; 3 brothers, William, August and Arthur Borchardt.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 West Main Street, Waupun.

A funeral service for Vi will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosendale Cemetery.
