Sara went to heaven’s gates on November 6, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born near Edgehill Georgia on May 6, 1939, to Gozie and Jeanne (Hawkins) Walden. She was raised on a cotton farm with her 13 brothers and sisters. Sara was accustomed to hard work her entire life and started picking cotton at 4 years old; after leaving school in the 10th grade, she babysat her nieces and nephews until she was old enough to get a job at the cotton mill in South Carolina.

Besides being at Glenn’s side farming every day she also held jobs at Ripon College, Wells Manufacturing, and 30 years of driving school bus for the School District of Oakfield.
