Ruth "Tuty" Minerva Gonzalez Montes

Ruth "Tuty" Gonzalez Montes, 64, of Waupun, and formerly of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ruth was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, on April 9, 1958, she was the daughter of Antonio and Toribia(Calderon) Viera. She came to the United States by way of Holyoke, Massachusetts in 1980, and moved to Kenosha in 1981, where she would spend most of her life, before quietly retiring to Waupun in 2017. She enjoyed reading, music, and movies. She worked for many years as a CNA, but said that the best job she ever had, was being a loving mother to her 5 children.

She is survived by her mother Toribia Viera, her sisters Virgen Ayala, Maria Nelly (Jose) Guimarais; her brothers Freddy Viera, Jose Viera, Norgie Viera; her children, Heidi Barbosa, Pote Barbosa, Josie Barbosa, Norgie Montes De Oca, Tamara Montes De Oca; 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father Antonio Viera, her sister Amarilys Viera, and her brother Rene Viera.

Funeral services and interment will be held at 12:00 P.M. noon on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Alto Cemetery. Immediately followed by a celebration of life family gathering.
