Roberta "Bobbie" Shaw

Roberta Marie (Brown) Shaw, age 85 of Waupun, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Christian Home and Health Rehabilitation Center.

Roberta was born on June 6, 1932, in Watertown, South Dakota, a daughter of Richard and Estella (Beahm) Brown. On October 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Melvin Shaw in Beloit. Bobbie was employed at Woolworths Department Store for many years and locally employed as a cook and cash register attendant for various restaurants including Old Town Inn, Donatello’s and Sassy’s. She was a volunteer for more than 20 years for Beaver Dam’s Share Program. Bobbie was also a member of VFW Post #2306, Beloit and a member of Free Methodist Church in Beloit for many years. She enjoyed playing and calling Bingo. Bobbie was a loving mother and grandmother.

Bobbie is survived by five children, Sandra Skilling of Beloit, Debra Garcia of South Beloit, IL, Roger (Pat) Shaw of Waupun, Terry Shaw of Waupun and Donald Shaw of Clearwater, FL; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Wayne Brown, Mike Brown and Bill Brown all of Waupun; 5 sisters, Shirley Brown, Georgia Mecklenberg, Donna Reddin, Linda Thurk and Diane Garcia all of Waupun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; a son, Richard “Ricky” Shaw; a grandson, Anthony Skilling; a sister, Brenda Brown and a brother, Richard Brown, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Thurk and Donald Mecklenberg; her mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Goldy Shaw.

Visitation for Bobbie will be from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun.

A memorial service for Bobbie will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Overlien officiating.

A memorial fund has been established in Roberta’s name.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Christian Home and Health Rehabilitation Center for the loving care their mother received.
