Nina Betty Te Beest

Nina Betty Te Beest, age 87 of Waupun, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 4, 2018, due to complications following heart surgery at UW Hospital in Madison.

Nina was born on September 4, 1930, in Dodge County, daughter of Frank and Lucy (Tamminga) Aalsma. On June 18, 1948, she married Howard Te Beest in Waupun. Howard and Nina moved to Montana in 1991, where they lived for fourteen years, returning to Waupun in 2005. Nina was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing games with her grandchildren. Nina was a longtime member of First Christian Reformed Church of Waupun.

Nina is survived by seven children, Linda (Wally) Beekman, David (Lynette) Te Beest,  Patricia Irish, Howard (Shar) Te Beest, Paul Te Beest, Ron (Gail) Te Beest and Nancy (Brian) Gosh; thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-three, great-grandchildren; brother, John (Loretta) Aalsma; two sisters, Georgianna Herrmann and Irene Ter Beest; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; daughter, Karen; a grandson, Scott Beekman; two great-grandsons, Andrew Beekman and Matthew Beekman; son-in-law, Barry Irish; three sisters, Elizabeth Hopp, Gertrude Holstein and Beatrice Heideman; two brothers, Gordon Aalsma and Andrew Aalsma; one sister-in-law, Bernice Koenders; six brothers-in-law, Andy Ter Beest, Edwin Herrmann, John Heideman, Klaas Holstein, Gilbert Te Beest and James Te Beest.

A Celebration of Life Service for Nina will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at First Reformed Church, 422 West Franklin Street, Waupun. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Garden.

Nina’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St. Waupun; and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

A Memorial Fund has been established in Nina’s name.
