Marvin Richard Groth

Marvin Richard Groth, age 92 formerly of Waupun, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Marvin was born on December 6, 1926, in Germantown, WI, a son of Gerhard and Frieda (Krueger) Groth. On November 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Lois Hensel in Plymouth, WI. Marvin was raised on the farm and worked with the Germantown Highway Department for 22 years. He was a member of Pella Lutheran Church.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Lois; three daughters, Sandra (Timothy) Sallach of Oakfield, Sally (Robert) Wehner of Hubertus and Vicki (Michael) O’Shea of Coloma; ten grandchildren, Stephen (Valori) Sallach, Heidi (Matthew) Lorfeld, Natalie (Ben) Kozar, Paula (Fouad) Chabba, Daniel Sallach (Mindy Mason), Kelley Cybela, Chloe (Carmine) Calabrese, Jeremy O’Shea (Melissa Meyer), Scott O’Shea and Bruce (Kyra) O’Shea; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Inez (Bob) Triebensee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Groth in infancy; one great-granddaughter, Ruby Kozar; one sister, Esther in infancy and one sister, Gertrude (Kenneth) Kaschner.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 South Madison Street, Waupun.

A funeral service for Marvin will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at church with Rev. David Knuth officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pella Lutheran Church.
