Marlene Joyce Wills

Marlene Joyce Wills, age 85 of Markesan, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Barrett House in Markesan with her family at her side.

Marlene was born on March 3, 1937, daughter of Harold and Edna (Fontaine) Spice. She was a graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1955. On February 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bill Wills in Rockford Il. In 1988, they moved to Markesan and opened the first gasket company in Markesan known as Green Lake Gasket. She worked side by side with her husband for many years. Marlene enjoyed cooking for her family, traveling, trips to the casino and fishing.

Marlene is survived by her two sons, Jeff Wills and Todd (Mary) Wills of Markesan; six grandchildren, Benjamin Wills, Rhonda Wills, Chase Powell, Tay (Nina) Wills, Troy Wills and Allen (Frankie) Hundt; nine great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and her canine companion, Sammy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2017; in-laws, Howard (Evelyn) Wills, a sister, Delores (Joe) Radakovich and Nancy (Dan) Pappas.

Private inurnment will take place.

The family would like to thank Joy, Kim and the entire staff of Hospice Hope and Bridget, Renea and the staff of Barrett House for the excellent care of Marlene throughout her stay.
