Marion Georgia Wallendal

Marion Georgia Wallendal passed away 74 days shy of her 100 ^th birthday on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Christian Homestead in Waupun.

Marion was born on August 16, 1919, in the township of Mackford, Green Lake County, a daughter of Hugo and Lilly (Krentz) Zick, the second of seven children. She graduated from Markesan High School in 1937. Marion was a nanny in Fond du Lac and waitressed at Braun Restaurant where she met her future husband, Robert. On January 15, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert Wallendal. She was a mother, housewife, ran errands for the family laundry and helped at the blood banks for many years. Marion was a member of the Waupun Legion Auxillary for 73 years and was the treasurer for the little league from 1962 until 1984.

Marion loved to sew for family and friends, cane pole fishing, golfing and golf outings, playing Bingo (Oh S*#@!), playing cards and baking. Her grandkids will never forget her chocolate chip cookies in the apple cookie jar, if the jar was empty there was always dough in the fridge.

Marion is survived by three children, Rosanne Wallendal, Gary (Deb) Wallendal and Joan (Ron) Hull; daughter-in-law, Cindi Wallendal; seven grandchildren, Dustin (Jodi) Hull, Carriann (Richard) Laubenstein, Jacob (Carri) Wallendal, Shannon (Aaron) Seaman, Jessica (Eric) Frost, Margaret Wallendal (special friend, Brady Morrissey) and Peter (Abby) Wallendal; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Leichtnam; sisters-in-law, Marion Dahms and Dorraine Wallendal; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2011; a son, Tom Wallendal in 2017; her parents; siblings, Margarite Hein, Wilton Zick, Carlton Zick, Ruth Metevia and Caroline Clinton; significant other of Rosanne, David Smoody.

Visitation for Marion will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun.

A memorial service for Marion will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Kohls Community Funeral Home. A burial for Robert and Marion will be held at Forest Mound Cemetery with military honors.
