Margaret "Peggy" Louise Hitzemann

Margaret Louise Hitzemann, age 82 of Markesan, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Thedacare Medical Center in Berlin, WI.

Peggy was born on May 14, 1935, in Vestal, NY, a daughter of Gerald and Eleanor (Loughrain) Reardon. On July 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Kurt Hitzemann in Vestal, NY. She was a bookkeeper for Robin II Inc. for 29 years. Peggy was a strong, independent Irish woman who took great pride in her heritage. Family was very important to her and she loved spending time at family gatherings. Peggy enjoyed gambling and going to the Fireside Theatre. She was an amazing cook, loved her pets and traveling.

Peggy is survived by five children, Janet Wermes of Fond du Lac, Ann (John) Draxler of Neenah, Susan (James) Murphy of Markesan, Kurt (Barbara) Hitzemann of Spring Hill, FL, and Karl (Carolyn) Hitzemann of Brookfield; ten grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachel) Burling, Hilary (Daniel) Leonard, Katherine (Daniel) Reinbold, Benjamin Murphy, Sara Murphy, Nora (Adam) Uttech, Max Hitzemann, Sam Hitzemann, Megan Hitzemann and Emma Hitzemann; nine great grandchildren, Sydney, Owen, Theodore, Wesley, Elijah, Kassidy, Genevieve, Merrick and Zayden; two brothers, Gerald (Sandie) Reardon of Davenport, FL, and Gary Reardon of Hector, NY; a sister, Katherine (Tom) Scalese of Binghamton, NY; a sister-in-law, Karen Johnson of Markesan; a brother-in-law, Raymond Weishaar of Ripon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kurt; parents-in-law, Al and Mary Hitzemann; a sister, Joan Donnelly; a son-in-law, Steven Wermes and a sister-in-law, Kay Weishaar.

Visitation for Peggy will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Markesan Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army in Peggy's name.
