Lorene Helen Martel

Lorene Helen (Steiner) Martel, age 103 of Randolph, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Randolph Health Services.

Lorene was born on February 16, 1921, daughter of Chester and Mattie (Atkinson) Walker. She was a graduate of Pardeeville High School. Lorene drove milk and stock trucks and was a school bus driver in the Fox Lake area for 15 years. She was a member of Congregational Church in Fox Lake and sang in the church choir. Lorene enjoyed traveling, she went to California for 15 years and during that time she continued her education and became a nurse. She then moved to Arizona for 20 years before moving back to Fox Lake.

Lorene is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Martel; 4 brothers, Orval, Chester, Clayton and Vernon (Al) Walker; 5 sisters, Odessa Steiner, Violet Eggleter, Hazel Watchorn, Doris Smith and Vreda Rabehl.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Randolph Community Funeral Home, 208 South High Street, Randolph, WI 53956. Burial will follow at Marcellon Cemetery, Pardeeville, WI 53954.
