Linda Jean Schmeckpeper

Linda Jean Schmeckpeper, age 80 of Markesan, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam, WI.

Linda was born on June 20, 1943, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Edward and Ruth (Diekmann) Jones. She was united in marriage to Warren Schmeckpeper on September 2, 1967, in Algonquin, IL. For many years, Linda enjoyed helping out on the farm, taking care of the bookkeeping and dairy calves. Linda loved children and taught at Sunshine Nursery for 25 years. She enjoyed going to the Fireside Theater and the Beaver Dam Community Theater for live shows. Linda loved reading, sewing and photography. She enjoyed people and loved animals. Linda’s family and friends meant the world to her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her husband; Warren Schmeckpeper, children, Kelly McCoy of Dallas, TX, Todd (Cassie) Schmeckpeper of Ellsinore, MO and Scott (Heather) Schmeckpeper of Markesan; six grandchildren, Kenna (Thomas) Kosh, Nayla (McCoy) Ferron, Reilly (Dylan Oman) Schmeckpeper, Ben McCoy, Chloe Schmeckpeper and Ava Schmeckpeper; 2 great grandchildren, Ryann Kosh and Boone Ferron; brother, Mark (Camille) Jones of SC; brother-in-law, Theron (Wanda) Schmeckpeper of Beecher, IL. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Jones; sister, Diane Jones; step father, Bert Henne; godparents, Jim and Marge French.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan, WI 53946 and on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 316 Vine St, Kingston, WI 53939.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 316 Vine St, Kingston, WI 53939 with Pastor Kurt Hagen officiating.
