Lester Edward Buchholz

Lester Edward Buchholz, age 79 of Burnett, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his home.

Lester was born on July 10, 1944, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the son of Lyle and Arline (Mathweg) Buchholz. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 - 1969. Lester was formerly employed at John Deere for 31 years as a setup manager. In retirement, he mowed lawn for the Horicon Golf Course. Lester is a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnett. Lester was always on the go and liked to keep busy. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and going to the cabin with family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Lester is survived by his significant other, Gwen Vander Galien of Burnett, step-son, Randal Pieper of Burnett; step son-in-law, Fred Piehl, step grandchildren, Cheryl (Bruce) Siewert, Heather (Jake) Witte, Brian (Theresa) Pieper and Joshua Pieper; many step-great grandchildren; brothers, Gordan (Pat) Buchholz of Mayville and Alvin Buchholz of Burnett; brother-in-law, Brian Maus; sister-in-law, Pauline Buchholz; four legged companion, Charlie. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Buchholz; step-daughter, Karen Piehl; step-daughter-in-law, Cheryl Pieper; brothers, Norman Buchholz and Ben Buchholz; sister, June Maus.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, N9520 WI-26, Burnett, WI 53922.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Timothy Sallach officiating. Burial will follow at Burnett Union Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard.
