Lavern Junior Krinke

LaVern Junior Krinke, age 81 of Manchester, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.

LaVern was born on August 29, 1940, son of Martin and Ellen (Schatz) Krinke. He was united in marriage to Dixie Spring in 1969. LaVern graduated from Markesan High School in 1958. He loved baseball, was known for his fast pitch and was an elite hitter. LaVern joined a local softball league and played well into his 50’s. Many summer days you would find him on the diamond with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fox and coyote hunting.  Every year he enjoyed going to Deer Camp, until his body was no longer able. LaVern will be missed by many.

LaVern is survived by his son, Mike Krinke and daughter, Theresa Martin; three grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Krinke, Katie (John) Warnke and Gunnar (Autumn) Steffen; three great grandchildren, Damian, Skyler and Marylee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie; sister, Lois (Harry) Oosterhof and brother, Dewane (Melva) Krinke.

A visitation for LaVern will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan.

A funeral service for LaVern will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Plagenz officiating, luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be established in LaVern’s name.
