On Wednesday November 24, 2021, Katy Eve Zimmerman courageously grew a set of wings, (not balls) and flew to her eternal heavenly home, where her grandparents, aunt and friend Judy greeted her with open arms and perhaps an open beer.
Katy was born on May 28, 1993, to John and Lisa (Nowak) Zimmerman. She grew up in the city of Markesan where she attended school, graduating in 2011. Katy went on to attend Fox Valley Technical College where she earned an Associates Degree in auto body repair. Katy held various positions in the field but most recently was employed at Tires Plus in Oshkosh.
Katy was known for her infectious laugh and being the life of the party. She lived life to the fullest, attending parties, gatherings, and concerts with her numerous friends. Katy liked to do things her way. One example of this was barrel rolling across the stage at both her 8 th grade promotion and high school graduation. She never let what others think influence her.
Katy enjoyed stock car racing, especially being part of her father’s crew, despite the many a--- chewings she got. Katy enjoyed Octoberfest weekend, sometimes too much. She loved the outdoors and would camp and fish (often only catching bottle bass), typically when fishing with her good friend Bruce.
Katy had a giving spirit and would help others in need, even if it meant making personal sacrifices. Somehow things always seemed to work out.
Katy is survived by her parents John and Lisa Zimmerman, sister Ashley (Ricky) Ruck, nieces Kendra and Sierra, aunt Kim (Mary Ann Miller) Nowak, grandparents John and Linore Nowak, Aunt Monica (Phil) Bergmann, cousin Emma Bergmann, and special furry friend Bear.
Katy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Clarence and Mary Ann Zimmerman, aunt Elaine Zimmerman, and special friends John and Judy.
