Kathryn Janice (Thomm) Radtke passed away on January 15, 2018 at the Randolph Health Services, at the age of 99 years and 13 days. She had been a resident for the past 13 years.
Kay was born on January 2, 1919, at Adams Friendship, Wisconsin to Frank and Jennie (Kershaw) Thomm. She attended the Oxford and Whitefish Bay schools and graduated from Oxford High School. She married Gus Radtke on October 30, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, and returned to Portage, WI, where they started the Service Drug Store and operated the pharmacy until Gus’ death on January 30, 1973. Kay was a member of the Portage Civic League and Portage Country Club where she enjoyed playing bridge and was very accomplished at it. She was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Portage.
Kay is survived by a son, Dennis Radtke (Patsy) Randolph , Wisconsin, and a daughter, Jennie Levi (Mike) Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren are Mark Radtke, Dan Radtke (Deanna) , Kathryn Jagow (Steve), Ani Humberson son Logan, Kelli Hedin (Nathanael), KC Dorgan daughter Kayleee Kathryn; great grandchildren, Andrew Jagow (Caitlin), Benjamin Jagow (Jacqueline), Cody Radtke , Adam Radtke and many nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters , Marion Volkmann, Marie McComb and a brother, Francis Thomm.
As per her request, there will be no visitation. The family wishes to thank all her friends who stayed in touch with her and Randolph Health Services who provided such sincere and loving care. Memorials may be given in Kathryn’s name to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Portage, Wisconsin.
