Judy Ann Grotzke

June 18, 1951 — December 27, 2024

Princeton

Judy Ann Grotzke, age 73 of Princeton, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at SSM St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose presence touched the lives of many.

Judy was born on June 18, 1951, in Poynette, Wisconsin, daughter of Burton and Leah (Freeland) Higley. She was a graduate of Poynette High School. Judy completed her education in 1969 and shortly thereafter, on August 23 of the same year, married Chuck Grotzke. Together, they farmed side by side for many years, demonstrating a strong partnership built on love and hard work. Judy was not only dedicated to her family but also committed to her community. She worked in local health care facilities for several years, sharing her kindness and compassion with those in need.

Judy was known for her talents as a hard worker and for her entrepreneurial spirit. She owned Aunt Judy's Cafe for over 20 years, an establishment that reflected her dedication and long hours of service to her customers. Her warmth and generosity made her a staple in the community, where she was always there for her friends and family without ever expecting anything in return.

In her earlier years, Judy enjoyed bowling and had a desire for action movies, which brought her joy and entertainment. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her husband, daughters, Melissa Eberwein and Cathy Est, as well as her three grandchildren, Aidan and Gabriel Eberwein and Lucas Est. Judy's legacy of love and support will live on in their hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Grotzke; daughters, Melissa Eberwein and Cathy Est; grandchildren, Aidan and Gabriel Eberwein and Lucas Est; brother, Raymond Higley; sister-in-law, Janette Higley; brother-in-law, Leon Brickl; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will dearly miss her.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Betty Brickl, Leone (Bob) Pearson, Audrey (Hal) Vandre, Cherry (Richard) Arfmann, and Pat (Arnie) Hoyheim; brothers, Harland (Joyce) Higley and Gary Higley; a twin sister in infancy; and sister-in-law, Marlene Higley.

Her memory will be honored and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
