Judith Mae Nelson

Judith Mae Ileene Nelson, age 75 of Waupun, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living Center surrounded by family.

Judith was born on May 28, 1943, in Erwin, SD, a daughter of Martin and Victoria (Neishiem) Neu. In 1962, she enlisted in the Marine Corps. On March 30, 1964, she was united in marriage to Gary Nelson in Cherry Point Chapel at MCAS in North Carolina. Family meant everything to Judith, she enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and her dogs. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, music, dancing, drawing and going for drives.

Judith is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary Nelson; six children, Connie (Brian) Kempke, Chris (Sharon) Nelson, Ken (Tracy) Nelson, Yvonne (Ron) Gaspardo, Kim Vielbaum and Paul (Michelle) Nelson; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Don) Kom; one brother-in-law, Wayne (Rita) Nelson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marlene Doer and Bonnie (Ken “Orangey”) Otto; one son-in-law, Tony Vielbaum; one great-granddaughter, Ava Lily Nelson and one brother-in-law, Orangey.

Visitation for Judith will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun.

A memorial service for Judith will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating.
