Joan Buiter

Joan Buiter, age 83 of Randolph, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at her home.

Joan was born on December 21, 1933, in Frankfort, IL, a daughter of Emko and Jennie (Vegter) Rutgers. On March 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to William Buiter in Oaklawn, IL. Joan liked music and was the church organist for many years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Her life was centered around serving Christ and God’s church. Joan was a member of Randolph Protestant Reformed Church.

Joan is survived by 7 children, Laurie Jabaay, William Buiter, both of Mentone, CA; Bob (Kris) Buiter of Fox Lake; Joan (Dave) Hanko, Grand Rapids, MI; Wayne (Michelle) Buiter, Yucaipa, CA; Heidi (Chuck) Doezma of Grand Rapids, MI; and Rachel Buiter of Randolph; 31 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Wilmina Lanting, Rena Regnerus, Connie (George) Vroom and Emma (Martin) DeVries; 3 sisters-in-law, Anne Vis, Clara (Rev. Gise) Van Baren and Sadie Knopper; 5 brothers-in-law, John Buiter, Albert (Jean) Buiter, Neal (Bernice) Buiter, Jim (Jan) Buiter and Rich (Mary) Buiter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Buiter; her parents; parents-in-law; 2 brothers, Harry (Sue) Rutgers and William Rutgers ; 2 sisters, Tillie (Jake) Fisher and Hilda (Henry) Zandstra; a son-in-law, Jim Jabaay; 4 brothers-in-law, Rev. George Lanting, Jacob Regnerus, Everett Buiter and Allen Vis; 3 sisters-in-law, Jeanne Buiter, Bertha (Wally) DeVries and Thea Buiter.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M. at Randolph Protestant Reformed Church, 229 Hammond Street, Randolph, and on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at church.

A funeral service for Joan will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Randolph Protestant Reformed Church with Rev. Erik Guichelaar officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been directed to Randolph Faith Christian School, 611 North Columbus Street, Randolph, WI 53956.
