Jessie Marie DeYoung, age 90 of Randolph, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Golden Years Senior Living in Randolph.
Jessie was born on December 28, 1927, near Brandon, WI, a daughter of William and Dena (Redeker) Smit. On November 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Newton DeYoung in Waupun. Jessie worked in house keeping at the nursing home in Markesan and later worked at Alsum produce until retiring. She was an avid Brewers fan and enjoyed listening to music. Jessie was a member of First Reformed Church in Friesland for many years.
Jessie is survived by two children, Dorene K. Schroeder of Milwaukee and Arvin DeYoung of Sun Prairie; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law; 4 sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton in 2009; her parents; a daughter, Nancy (Jerry) DeVries; a sister, Christine (John) Talma and a brother, William Henry Smit.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 29, 2018, at First Reformed Church of Friesland, 107 East Winnebago St, Friesland.
A celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. at First Reformed Church of Friesland with Rev. Rob Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Friesland Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Jessie’s name.
