Jean Mary Schears

Jean Mary Schears, age 74 of Waupun, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at her home.

Jean was born on December 5, 1945, in Beaver Dam, WI, a daughter of Alex and Ethel (Frase) Karas. On November 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Schears in the town of Trenton, WI. Jean worked for Green Giant canning factory for 16 years. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, embroidery, going to flea markets with her husband and was an avid reader. Jean loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Jean is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbert of Waupun; 3 children, Brenda (Scott) Bukowiec of Waupun, Lori (Paul) Bruckert of LeRoy and Brian (Amy) Schears of Waupun; 4 grandchildren, Steven (Emily) Bukowiec, Tyler (fiancé, Jade Van Buren) Bukowiec, Kayla (Beth) Stuhr and Cassie (Tyler) VandeStreek; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon and Kennedy; 1 sister, Ruthann Bark of Kenosha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson in infancy, Austin Bukowiec and 2 brothers, Jim and David Karas.

Visitation for Jean will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 113 County Park Road, Waupun.

A funeral service for Jean will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor David Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jean’s name.
