Herbert Arden Laper

Herbert Arden Laper, age 90 of Markesan, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Herbert was born on November 19, 1929, in the town of Markesan, a son of Herman and Emma (Dretske) Laper. On April 19, 1952, he was united in marriage to Delores Armbruster in Berlin, WI. Herbert was a hard worker who loved the outdoors and helping people. He enjoyed bowling, traveling with his wife, playing Bingo with his sister, June and spending time with family. Herbert was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Markesan.

Herbert is survived by his three children, Penny (Tom) Damrow of Howards Grove, WI, Arden (Debbie) Laper of Markesan and Kathy (Tom) Taake of Neenah, WI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Zuhlke and Avis (Vernon) Cornwell; sisters-in-law, Mary Armbruster, Nancy Laper, Karen(Les) Kuehl and Elaine Havitz; brother-in-law, James (Lori) Armbruster; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores in 2018; his parents; two brothers, Irwin Laper Sr. and Robert (Karen) Laper; one sister, Florence (Walter) Roesler; two brothers-in-law, Larry Armbruster and Jack Havitz.

Visitation for Herbert will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Holy Family Parish, 45 Saint Joseph Street, Markesan.

A funeral mass for Herbert will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at church with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Markesan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to Markesan Resident Home North Terrace Assisted Living, 1130 North Margaret Street, WI 53946.

The family would like to thank the staff at Markesan Resident Home Assisted Living and the 6 ^th floor staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center for their wonderful care.
