Gloria Mae Johnson

Gloria Mae Johnson, age 88, of Waupun, formerly of Brandon, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Waupun Christian Home surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 12, 1936, in Gile, WI, she was the daughter of Robert and Lena (Rudolfi) Peterson. On February 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Roy Johnson.

Gloria was a devoted homemaker, and her children were her life's passion. She took great pride in her home, where she raised her family. Gloria was very active throughout her life, enjoying gardening, knitting, and watching her favorite soap operas and game shows. She was a die-hard Packer fan and found joy in playing bingo and listening to Elvis gospel music. In her earlier years, she delighted others by playing her accordion.

She is survived by her eight children, Robert (Susan) Johnson of Hagerstown, MD, Paul (Val) Johnson of Ripon, Keith “Bunky” (Jessie) Johnson of Burnett, Debra (Doug) Darnick of Waupun, Brenda (Jay) Van De Leest of McCordsville, IN, Marla (Terry) Sauer of Cambria, Barbara (Ted) Domke of Fairwater, and Patricia (Jon) Leicht of Green Bay; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley (Roger) Selves of Pence, WI, and brother-in-law, Dan Niemi, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 2003, and her two sisters, Roberta (Jon) Bergquist and Karen Niemi. A private service will be held in her honor.
