Frank Arnold Pugh, age 85 of Markesan, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at home with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Frank was born on August 26, 1939, son of Frank and Mabel (Price) Pugh. He is remembered in love and held in the highest esteem by his family. Frank was a devoted and dependable husband, father, grandparent, and friend. He consistently showed up for his loved ones, expressing his love and support in never missing important events and always being one of the last to leave. Frank’s quick wit and humor were always present in conversations, and he gave his full attention to those around him; a rare and cherished act of love. He was a true outdoorsman who loved living life hands-on. In addition to his time spent farming, Frank could often be found fishing or hunting, and enjoyed several hunting trips to Colorado.

Among his many life accomplishments, Frank served his country in the National Guard from 1957-1962. On September 17, 1960, he married the love of his life, Janice Ballard. Together, during their 64 years of marriage, they followed in Frank’s family’s footsteps; dairy farming and raising the best produce. Frank was well-loved by many and a staple at the local Farmers Markets; serving his loyal customers in Fond du Lac and Waupun all his life. Frank cherished his family and enjoyed spending time together.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Janice Pugh; three children, Jason (Beth) Pugh of Ripon, Julie (John) Barden of Kingston and Dean (DawnMarie) Pugh of Markesan; grandchildren, Shannon (Ben) Schoenebeck of Appleton, Adam (Maggie) Pugh of Madison, Gregory Barden of Milwaukee, Kyle Barden of Duluth, MN, Tanner (Hailey) Pugh of Beaver Dam, Austin (Traci) Pugh of Markesan, Ariel (Ben) Rylko of Algonquin, IL and Julia (Nick) Rylko of Algonquin, IL; great grand-children, Mason, Aubri and Nolan Pugh, Max and Luke Schoenebeck, Ella, June and Zoey Pugh; brothers-in-law, Jack Ballard of Ripon and Jerel (Sharon) Ballard of Ripon; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Arline (Raymond) Kasuboski; mother and father-in-law, Harold (LaVerna) Ballard; sisters-in-law, Joan Weeks and Judy (Robert) Dalton; and nephew, Daniel Kasuboski.

Visitation for Frank will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Markesan Community Funeral Home 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan, WI.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Markesan Community Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Duwane Sonny Walker American Legion Post 395 Honor Guard.
