Eva Lois Smith

Eva Lois Smith, age 87 of Waupun, passed away quietly in her sleep on the morning of Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at her home in Waupun.

Eva was born on February 22, 1936, in Tennessee, daughter of Everett and Odella (Goolsby) Ashburn.  Eva will be remembered as a woman who loved the simple things in life. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Eva loved listening to Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and working on word search puzzles in her spare time.

Eva is survived by her children, Randy Dines of Tennessee, Richard (Pam Krause) Dines of Van Dyne, Victoria “Vicky” (Dennis) Schmitt of Waupun, Jessie (Dana) Sharp of Ripon and Robert (Jessica) Smith of Ripon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty and Dorothy; brother, Bobby; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son’s father, Robert Smith Sr. in 2023; son, Anthony “Tony” Dines; parents, Everett and Odella Ashburn; brothers-in-law, Oscar Herrin and Jack Burton.

Visitation for Eva will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, Wisconsin 53963.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating.
