Erma Kindschuh

Erma Kindschuh, age 85 of Waupun, passed away peacefully at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun, on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, with family at her side.

Erma was born on August 18, 1939, in the Township of Randolph, daughter of Willard and Jessie (Stiemsma) Vander Galien. She was a graduate of Cambria High School. On June 28, 1958, she married Donald Kindschuh in Waupun where they resided on the family farm for 58 years. Erma was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun where she played the organ for over fifty years. She was also a member of the Lydia Circle and helped with quilting. Erma was employed at the National Rivet, the Mortensen Chiropractic office and the Vande Zande Law Office. She enjoyed camping and playing cards at the Senior Center. Erma loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Debra Vanevenhoven and son Daniel Kindschuh; two grandchildren, Charles (Kimberly) Vanevenhoven and Joseph (Janice) Vanevenhoven; three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Tobias and Quinn; two brothers, Roy (Linda) Galien and Warren (Mitzi) Vander Galien; four sisters, Beatrice (Kenneth) Smits, Norma (Tom) Meyer, Suzanne (Craig) Pihl and June (Richard) Greenfield; sister-in-law, Angie Vander Galien; numerous in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2021; three brothers, Harold Vander Galien, Gilbert (Evelyn) Vander Galien and William (Evelyn) Vander Galien; two nephews, Jeffrey and Glenn Vander Galien and a niece Melissa Adams.

Visitation for Erma will be held from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 525 West Main Street, Waupun.

A funeral service for Erma will be held at 11:30 A.M. on November 23, 2024, at church with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating. Burial will follow at Cattaraugus Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for an Organ Fund in memory of Erma Kindschuh at Immanuel Lutheran Church 525 West Main Street, Waupun, WI 53963.
