Duwane Gordon Walker, age 87 of Manchester, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Markesan Resident Home.
Duwane was born on July 16, 1931, a son of Harold and Edith (Poehls) Walker. He was united in marriage to Irene Schatz on February 12, 1955, in Kingston. Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Grand River Turkey Club and was a headerman at Prairie Rivet for 20 years. Sonny was a life member of George Thompson American Legion Post 395 and Zion Lutheran Church of Kingston.
Sonny is survived by his wife Irene; son, Brian Walker of Manchester; daughter, Brenda Eldridge (Robert) of North Carolina; twin grandsons, Dylan and Evan Eldridge; two brothers, Kenneth (Doris) Walker of Markesan and Gordon (Gail) Walker of Ripon; sister-in-law, Carol Walker of Kingston and brother-in-law, Richard Dykstra of Dalton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lyle Walker and sister, Darlene Dykstra.
Graveside service will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 11:30 A.M. at Kingston Cemetery with Pastor Frank Rose officiating. Military honors will be provided by George Thompson American Legion Post 395 of Kingston. Following graveside service please join family and friends at the Kingston American Legion, 561 S. Main Street, for a celebration of Sonny’s life.
