Darold Strook, born July 26 th , 1938, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017. On April 18 th , 1959 he was wed to Charleen Tavs. He was a farmer and carpenter until his retirement. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in whatever sport they participated in. Darold is survived by his wife of 58 years. He is further survived by his children, Randa Strook (special friend, Tom), Todd (Cindy) Strook, Renee Mertens (special friend, Jeff), Terry Strook, Robin (Dave) Griffin, Troy (Kate) Strook; 18 grandchildren, Matthew (Sabrina) Boelk, Mike (Kelli) Jacobs, Miranda (Bud) Kreier, Melanie Jacobs (special friend, Sam), Courtney Diels, Tiffany (Nick) Krull, Justin (Jacqueline) Strook, Joette (Jason) Behm, Grant Strook (special friend, Brienna), Tegan Strook (special friend, Kurt), Aimee (Erik) Jensen, Andrew (Leanna) Kastein, Clarissa Mayo (special friend, Fletcher), Kendall Strook, Tyler Hautamaki, Kirstin (Mason) Foth, Lindsey (Derek) Semenas and Loryn Strook (special friend, Josh); 9 great grandchildren, Jeremy, Logan, Connor and Talea Boelk, Wesley, Whyte, Wylie and Wynter Kreier, Grady Jensen, Sommer and Wynter Krull, Jaxon Strook, Kenley Behm, Kwynn and Kroy Kastein, Ariyanah Polacek, Kylie Strook and Ian Hautamaki; 6 siblings, Martin Strook, Marlene (Ray) Keller, Richard Strook, Rosie (Mike) Scharschmidt, Robert Strook and Lyle (Kathy) Strook; In-Laws, Keither (Sharon) Krohn, Gerald (Wanda) Sanders, William Tavs and Barb Strook; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Strook; siblings, David, Donald, Dale and Doris; a sister-in-law, Dorie Strook; parents, Theodore (Erna) Strook and parents-in-law, Wilton (Angeline) Tavs.
A memorial “Softball” service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, in the Brandon Park on the softball diamond at 11:00 A.M. The family encourages everyone to wear Packer, Badger or Laconia attire. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, N5680 Towne Road, Rosendale, WI 54974, in Rogersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to organizations of the family’s choosing.
