Caroline Heeringa

Caroline Heeringa, age 85, of Waupun, formerly of Randolph, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Prairie Ridge in Waupun with family at her side.

Caroline was born November 3, 1932, in the Township of Fox Lake, Dodge County, a daughter of Sam and Elsie (Alsum) Hoffman. She was united in marriage to Norman Heeringa on August 21, 1952, First Christian Reformed Church in East Friesland. Caroline spent many days helping her husband in the Cheese Factory. She enjoyed painting, ceramics and flower gardening. Caroline was a member of the Frisian Women’s Group and Second Christian Reformed Church of Randolph.

Caroline is survived by her five children, Tom (Mary) Heeringa, Tucson, AZ; Nancy (Frank) Nehring, Cambria; Susan (Marc) Heeringa-Pieper, Sonoma, CA; Eleanor (Carl) Heeringa-Owen, DeForest and Krista Krohn, Waupun; 15 grandchildren, Andrew (Leah) Heeringa, Daniel Heeringa, Neal Heeringa, Nicholas (McKala) Nehring, Jessica (Aaron) Hamill, Luke Pieper, Eden Pieper, Samuel Pieper, Abraham Owen, Benjamin (Britta) Owen, Christopher Owen, Connor Krohn, Kallyn Krohn, Cade Krohn and Kiah Krohn; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora (Brian) Hemp, Joann (Marvin) Alsum; two brothers, Melvin Hoffman and Ronald (Harriet) Hoffman; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hoffman and Jean Heeringa; brothers-in-law, Henry (Alice) Heeringa, Dick (Barb) Heeringa, Sam (Barb) Heeringa and Richard (Nancy) Heeringa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; sisters, Eleanor Hoffman, Tena (William) Dykstra and Agnes (Edward) Westra; brothers, John Hoffman, Carl (Muriel) Hoffman, Jake (Margie) Hoffman; sisters-in-law, Alice Hoffman and Sylvia (Howard) Montsma; brothers-in-law, Robert Lemmenes, Andrew (Gert) Heeringa and William Heeringa.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Second Christian Reformed Church of Randolph, 418 Tamarack Street, Randolph.

A funeral service for Caroline will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Second Christian Reformed Church. Burial to follow at Friesland Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to the Randolph Christian School and Heartland Hospice of Fond du Lac.
