Carla Jean Jahns, age 77 of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Prairie Place in Ripon.
Carla was born on January 30, 1948, daughter of Carl and Martha Abraham. She was united in marriage to Kent Jahns on August 5, 1977, in Marquette, WI. Carla spent 31 years working at Del Monte as a seasonal employee and had a passion for bartending that spanned 50 years. She loved socializing with others, building friendships and memories along the way. She was a member of a pool league alongside her two beloved sisters. Charlie cherished spending quality time together, with Debra and Donna sharing experiences, offering support, and calming a sense of connection, even though they came from different families. She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and loved following 1960’s music artists.
Carla enjoyed life on the farm, where she embraced the farmer's lifestyle. Her affection for animals was evident as she lovingly tended to them, often giving each one a unique name that reflected their individual personalities. Carla had a special love for her farm cats, who were more than just pets; they were companions in her joyful journey. Despite being a diabetic, she had a well-known sweet tooth and enjoyed her "naughty's," which were her beloved sweets. Carla was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Manchester.
Carla is survived by her five children, Carrie (Jason) Nitz of Ripon, Carl Eichstedt of Berlin, Glenn Jahns of Madison, Sandy (Monte) Whitney of Markesan and Kent (Heather) Jahns of Markesan; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Rorie, Katlyn, Samantha, Hannah, Grady and Lainy; five great grandchildren, Bentley, Raegan, Camden, Mariana and Marisol; loving sisters, Debra (Dennis) Decker and Donna (Bill) Silgman; in-laws, Diane (Larry) Dahl, Roland Jahns, Sheryl Spencer and Valerie Jahns; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kent Jahns in December of 2023; a great grandson, Luke; parents and her brother-in-law, Jack Spencer.
