Barbara Ann Shookman

July 25, 1932 — February 10, 2018

Barbara Ann Shookman, age 85 of Randolph, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Randolph Health Services.

Barb was born on July 25, 1932, in Danville, Illinois, a daughter of Herman and Loretta (Selsor) George.
On April 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Samuel Shookman in Covington, Indiana. They enjoyed the next 56 years in a loving, Christ-centered marriage that provided support, witness, and inspiration to all. A long time member of Randolph Evangelical Free Church, Barb was a devoted wife and prayer warrior. She loved her grandkids, gardening and sewing. She used the talents the Lord blessed her with to be a blessing to others, applying her gifts of hospitality to do everything from spoiling her grandkids to opening up her home to those in the mission field. Barb always put her family first. Her quiet demeanor and willingness to work behind the scenes allowed her to live out the two greatest commandments to their best intent and most effective witness.

Barb is survived by four children, Chris (Ike) de Vries of Marshall, Pam (Jim) Bylsma of Randolph, LuAnn (Douglas) Jauregui of Marshfield and Tim (Suzanne) Shookman of Beaver Dam; ten grandchildren, Mindy Caldwell, Danielle Geary, Jamie Weaver, Jodi Wickstrom, Jon Bylsma, Amy Nelles, Stacy Ott, Tyler Shookman, Katie Grady and Samuel Shookman; ten great grandchildren, Jason, Chase, Ashlynn, Johannah, Bryce, Dawson, Boaz, Brynley, Brielle and Adelynn; one sister, Bonnie (Joe) Woods; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Shookman, Rosie Drollinger, Shirley (John) Coffing and Gladys Marshall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws and husband.

Visitation for Barb will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Randolph Evangelical Free Church, 702 North High Street, Randolph, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. and burial at Randolph Cemetery. Bill Zuhlke will officiate the services.
