Barbara "Barb" Ann Powers

Barbara Ann Powers, age 85, of Markesan, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin.

Barb was born on November 21, 1938, in Kimberly, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Mamie (Laurent) Senecal. Barb grew up as a city girl, but became a farmer’s wife when she was united in marriage to Don Powers on July 1, 1961, in Iowa. She loved collecting angels, crafting, and playing cards. Barb was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and doing crossword puzzles. She was a longtime member of Markesan United Methodist Church. Barb was a devoted wife, grandma and great grandma. Her family meant the world to her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barb is survived by her children, Susan Powers, Gary Powers and Cindy Powers; grandchildren, Eric (Mallory) Krueger, Kristina (Tyler) Denson, Ryan (Jessica) Krueger and Erin Krueger; 10 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Darren (Brenda) Krueger; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Connie) Powers and Carl Sengstock; and sister-in-law, Doris Allen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Powers; daughter, Lori Krueger; 4 sisters; 1 brother; and numerous in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Markesan Public Library, 75 North Bridge St, Markesan, WI 53946 or the Markesan United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the United Methodist Church, 74 E Catherine St, Markesan, WI 53946.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Markesan.
