Audrey Jean Vander Velde

Audrey Jean Vander Velde, age 82 of Randolph, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Randolph Health Services.

Audrey was born on December 12, 1935, in Markesan, WI, a daughter of John and Johanna (Beyer) Alsum. On December 26, 1958 she was united in marriage to Arnold Vander Velde in East Friesland. Audrey was an entrepreneur, at age 16 she taught in the East Friesland Christian Grade School and later organized A+A Produce with her husband Arnold. She was very artistic and often taught her students with drawings. Audrey was pianist for many years and played for the Kings Quartet. She loved to work in her flower garden.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Arnold of Randolph; three children, Shawn Vander Velde of East Friesland, Simone (Janssen Barron) Vander Velde of Randolph and Rachel (Gerald Miller Jr.) Vander Velde of Randolph; four grandchildren, Christopher Schaver, Tyson (Tessa) Alsum, Desirae Alsum and Lucas (Jessica) Vander Velde; two great-grandchildren, Elexis Sobrilsky and Theodore Vander Velde; two step great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Aaron Zindas; a sister-in-law, Josephine Vander Velde; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Shelly Schaver in 1986; a brother-in-law, Harold Vander Velde and two sisters-in-law, Janeatte (Paul) Somsen and Jane (Jim) Hoekstra.

Visitation for Audrey will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church, W3278 County Road K, Markesan.

A funeral service for Audrey will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Terrace Shores Ev. Free Church with Pastor Gary Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at Friesland Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in Audrey’s name.
