Ardis "Ardie" Glenroy Wiersma

Ardis Glenroy Wiersma, age 86 of Dalton, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Ripon Medical Center.

Ardie was born on October 9, 1934, in Columbia County, WI, a son of Edward and Elizabeth (Smedema) Wiersma. On April 8, 1961, he was united in marriage to Patricia All at the Waupun United Methodist Church. He was employed at National Rivet for 43 ½ years, first as a machinist and later promoted to foreman. Ardie enjoyed his cars, tractors and tractor pulls. He loved going for rides to look for cars and going to auctions. His greatest joys were living on the family farm and spending time with his family.

Ardie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Wiersma of Dalton; 2 daughters, Barbara (Scott) Perry of Appleton and Pamela (Keith) Bunkoske of Horicon; 4 grandchildren, Richard Perry, Stephanie (J.P.) Marquez, Samantha Bunkoske and Stacey Bunkoske; 1 great-grandson, Jordy Marquez; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley (Merlin) Tolsma of Fond du Lac, Nancy (Larry) Engel of Markesan and Carole All of Neenah; 1 special nephew, Mel (Velma) Elgersma; step grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Fousek and Katie (Stephen) Vyse, step great-grandson, Theo Vyse, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Lawrence (Marguerite) All; 4 siblings, John (Katie) Wiersma, Beulah (Charles) Westra, Joseph (Marie) Wiersma and Alva Shoberg; 4 siblings-in-law, Gerald All, Betty (Jacob) Posthuma, Arlene Smolen and Anita (Ray) Miller.

A private family service will be held with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in the town of Dalton.

At a later date, a celebration of life will be held.

A memorial fund has been established in Ardie’s name.
