Arden Herbert Laper

Arden H Laper, age 67 of Markesan, passed away and entered eternal life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Arden was born on October 27, 1955, in Ripon, Wisconsin, a son of Herbert and Delores (Armbruster) Laper. He was united in marriage to Deborah Perry on November 11, 1978, in Markesan.

Arden was a hard-working man who devoted his life to his family - his pride and joy. He was married to the love of his life for almost 45 years, and was a girl-dad & girl grand-dad “Grampy” to his grandbabies and they adored him. He was a quiet man, but he would do anything for anyone. He loved woodworking and he brought the creations to life that his wife and girls were always dreaming up, no questions asked. He could fix anything and was known for being out on the dance floor for hours at weddings. He enjoyed spending his retirement, and felt most at peace, at home and at the campground with his family.  He was our rock, the most selfless man we ever knew. He never wanted anyone to worry, but carried the weight of the world on his shoulders so no one else would have to. He will be missed beyond measure and we hope he has found his peace.

Arden is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years Deb; his three daughters Courtney (Emmie Lou) Laper of Chicago, Lindsey (Jerry) Wray of Sun Prairie and Hilary (Justin) Nettesheim of Fall River; granddaughters Mataya, Avianna, Aurelia, Ansleigh (Wray), Skyler and Reese (Nettesheim); sisters Penny (Tom) Damrow and Kathy (Tom) Taake; his mother-in-law Diana Spiering; sisters-in-law Donna (Tom) Wasilewski, Jackie (Dennis) Grzenia, Peggy (Mark) Laper and Susan Perry; many nieces,  nephews and other relatives & friends as well as his four-legged companion Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11am on Monday, August 28, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Markesan with mass at 11 with Father Joji Thirumalareddy officiating.
