Anna Gwendolyn (Gwen) Griffith was born on November 16, 1920, in Chicago, IL. Her parents were Edward Hugh Roberts and Mabel Hannah (Jones) Roberts. She died on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the Randolph Health Services Assisted Living in Randolph, WI. Gwen was 97 years old.

Gwen was raised in South Randolph, WI, living above the general store which her parents owned. Since she was an only child, she was very close to her cousins who spent many vacations with her in South Randolph. She attended the South Randolph one-room school through 8 th grade and graduated from Randolph High School in 1938.

After graduation she attended Bryant Stratton Business College in Chicago. She worked in the offices of an insurance company and a torpedo factory in Chicago during WW2. On November 24 th , 1945, Gwen married Hugh Owen Griffith in Randolph where they made their home. Here she worked as a legal secretary for three different attorneys over the course of 45 years.

Gwen especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren and always put their needs above her own. She enjoyed winters in Florida and also in Utah. Golf on ladies day at Fox Lake Golf Club and Friday Night Fish Fries were always fun for her. In her later years she enjoyed Friday nights at Culvers. One of her pastimes was watching sports events on TV. Gwen was a lifelong member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was very proud of her Welsh heritage and, being one hundred percent Welsh, she loved to sing. She attended many Welsh song fests around the country. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Cambrian Heritage Society. She was a life member of the National Gymanfa Ganu Association.
