Alan Howard Albright

Alan Howard Albright, age 80 of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

Alan was born on April 20, 1944, son of Howard and Helena Albright. He was a graduate of Ripon High School. Al was united in marriage to Joanne Albright on March 13, 1970 in Ripon, WI. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War in 1962. Al began his career at Markesan Implement in 1971, where he worked until the company closed its doors. After that, he spent a number of years employed at Knowles Produce.

Beyond his work and military service, Al had passions that connected him deeply to the world around him. He was a simple man, known for his love of a good debate and a heartfelt connection to his community. He loved collecting toy tractors, a hobby that reflected his affection for farming and agricultural life. He often helped fix farm equipment for local farmers, further demonstrating his dedication to supporting those in his community.

Al is survived by his sister, Mary Albright; sister-in-law, Bev Hartgerink; special niece, Bonnie Bergquist and special friend Kim (Jeff) Kimber; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Albright in 2022; sister-in-law, Barbara (James) Zamzow and brother-in-law, Donald Hartgerink.

A visitation will be held for Joanne and Alan from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Markesan Community Funeral Home 868 North Margaret Street. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Fairwater Cemetery with Military honors provided by Abendroth Connolly American Legion Post 282.

The family would like to thank SSM Home Hospice for the wonderful care given to Joanne and to Visiting Angels for the countless visits and time spent with Alan.
