Lenore F Hooper

Lenore F. Hooper, age 95 of Bayfield, WI, formerly of Kingston, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, WI.

Lenore was born on May 27, 1921, in Cable, WI, the daughter of George and Christine (Warburton) Henderson, the youngest of six children. She was confirmed in faith at the Cable Congregational Church, where she sang in the choir. Lenore attended Cable Public School all 12 years. She spent one year at Northland College before going to Globe Business College in St. Paul, MN. Lenore married Norman Hooper on May 26, 1944, in the Congregational Church in Green Lake, WI, and made their home in Kingston. Lenore looked forward to her trips to Florida and spending time with her sisters. In her free time she loved listening to music, singing, watching TV, reading and crocheting afghans. She enjoyed baking and loved her dessert. Throughout her life she was a very active member of Kingston United Methodist Church.

Lenore is survived by her children; MaryBeth (Darwin) Matthias, Beverly Plath and Rex (Joan) Hooper; three grandchildren, Terri (Cory) Dahlke, Lynn (Bruce) Stetson and Richie (Margo) Plath; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Amelia, Katelyn Stetson, Greylyn Plath; several nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, siblings and son-in-law, Richard “Shorty” Plath.

Visitation for Lenore will be from 9:30-11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Kingston United Methodist Church, 216 East Pearl Street, Kingston.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 1, ^, 2017, at church with Pastor Brenda Grams officiating. Inurnment will follow at Kingston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers. A memorial fund may be directed to the Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston Mill Pond Library and Kingston Historical Society.
