Eleanor Lucille Gysbers, age 91 formerly of Brandon, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Markesan Resident Home.
Eleanor was born on February 1, 1925 in Green Lake County, a daughter of Daniel and Minnie (Daane) Theune. On March 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Gysbers. Eleanor farmed with her husband near Waupun for many years. She was employed at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in the Food Service Department and was a cook at Helen’s Kitchen. Eleanor was a longtime member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon.
Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Ann (Ronald) Mulder of Brandon and Judith (Bill) Post of Brandon; Five grandchildren, Pam (Dustin) Mueller of Portage, Craig (Jodi) Mulder of Brandon, Eric Mulder of Brandon, Jon (Jenni) Post of Brandon and Jennifer Post of Brandon; Seven great grandchildren, BreeAnn and Peyton Mueller, Cowan, Madison and Gerrit Mulder, Brock and Blaise Post; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; five brothers, Harold, Ray, Ed, Leroy and Harvey in infancy; two sisters, Gladys Veenendaal and Florence Bly.
Visitation for Eleanor will be held from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Bethel Reformed Church, 305 West Main Street, Brandon.
A funeral service for Eleanor will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at church with Pastor John Tilstra officiating. Burial will follow at Cattaraugus Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Eleanor’s name.
The family would like to thank the staff of Markesan Resident Home for the time and care given during her stay.
