Phyllis Elaine Schulz, age 85 of Waupun, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Christian Home in Waupun.
Phyllis was born on November 17, 1931 in Berlin, WI, the daughter of Lathrop and Beatrice (Barnes) Covey. She married Wally Tessmann and helped out on the farm. Phyllis had a love for music, she sang with many area bands including: Pep Babler (Oshkosh), Cousin Fuzzy (Green Bay) and Al Buerger and the Pros (Fond du Lac). She enjoyed sewing and made many wedding dresses. Family was a big part of her life, she took great joy in raising her children. On November 17, 2005 she married Ronald Schulz in Markesan, WI.
Phyllis is survived by 2 daugthers, Lynn (Richard) Boening of Wautoma and Diana Baniel of Oshkosh; a son, Lathrop “Bud” (Rose) Baniel of Berlin; 2 step-daughters, Nancy (Peter) Turck of Beaver Dam and Sharon (Vick) Zander of Randolph; a step-son, Melvin (Prangtip) Schulz of Las Vegas, NV; 2 adopted daughters, Mona (Stephen) Williams of MN and Mary Lee (Scott) Nelson of MN; a son-in-law, James Froehlich; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wally Tessmann in 1999 and Ronald Schulz in 2015, a daughter, Debra Froehlich in 2014 and 2 brothers, Richard and Arthur Covey.
Visitation for Phyllis will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Christian Home, 331 Bly Street, Waupun.
A memorial service for Phyllis will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Christian Home with Chaplain Dennis Overlein officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Phyllis’ name.
