Carolyn Jean Landaal

Carolyn Landaal, age 83 of Waupun, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Carolyn was born on April 27, 1933 in Waupun, a daughter of Raymond and Georgiana (Krueger) Schouten. She was united in marriage to John “Jack” A. Micheels until his passing on December 16, 1959. She then married Byron Landaal and divorced in 1979. Carolyn worked at JC Penney, was a secretary for Leader News and drove van for Nickels Transportation. She was part of the garden club and a master gardener for Waupun and Princeton. Carolyn enjoyed volunteering for the women’s Auxillary at the Waupun Memorial Hospital. Many of her mornings were spent with the women’s coffee clutch at Helen’s Kitchen. Driving was a passion of Carolyn’s and she also loved to travel. Carolyn is survived by 5 children, Joe (Rhonda) Landaal of Waupun, Jacqueline (James) Nowicki of Fox Lake, Nicki (Fred) Hartgerink of Minnesota, Jill (Phil) Bear of Minnesota and Matt Micheels of Rome; 12 grandchildren: Jessica Nowicki, Joshua (Mary Mulder) Nowicki, Jason (Candy) Nowicki, Trent Landaal, Alyssa Landaal, Elizabeth (RJ) Ancona, Rebecca Bear, Christopher Bear, Madeline Bear, Brooke Micheels, Lindsy Ellison and Morgan Micheels; 13 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Verna Webb of Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Jack” Micheels, her parents and a brother-in-law, Paul Webb. Visitation for Carolyn will be held from 9:00 until the hour of service on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun. A memorial service for Carolyn will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Kohls Community Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Knowlton officiating.
