Patty Jean Clark of Markesan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin.
Born on October 26, 1933 in Brownstown, Illinois, Patty Jean was the daughter of Howard and Goldy (Blem) Harre. Her spirited attitude and beautiful smile caught the attention of James Clark and they were soon united in marriage on August 10, 1952 in Clinton, IL. They moved to Rochelle, Illinois, where they both worked for Del Monte Corporation, Pat as a telephone switch-board operator. Pat later worked for the Rochelle School District as a Closed Circuit Educational T.V. Coordinator. After a brief stay in Ogdan, Utah, where Pat worked various jobs including for a collection agency and clothing retail store, they moved to Markesan in 1984. Quickly becoming active in the community, Pat was a member of the Markesan United Methodist Church; a Girl and Boy Scout leader; an avid bridge (card) player; and a member of I.O.O.F. Pat also worked at the Markesan Resident Home and Slate Law Offices.
Pat is survived by her husband of 64 years, James; a son, Stephen James of California; Eight Grandchildren; Three Great Grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A dedicated wife and mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Martin L Clark, a daughter, Cheryl (Clark) Macy, a brother, Gary Harre and a sister in infancy.
Visitation for Pat will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Markesan Community Funeral Home, 868 North Margaret Street, Markesan, and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2016 at the United Methodist Church, 74 East Catherine Street, Markesan.
A memorial service for Pat will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ethan Larson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Methodist Church, 74 East Catherine Street, Markesan, memorial fund has been established in Pat's name.
