James Albert Wendlandt

James Albert Wendlandt, age 88 of Waupun, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Christian Home in Waupun.

James was born on August 8, 1928 in Waupun, a son of Albert and Frances (Salzwedel) Wendlandt. On September 18, 1954 he was united in marriage to Lileh Jansen in Hartford, WI. James served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked in his bike shop for over 50 years and was a crossing guard for the Waupun School District for over 10 years and worked at the Weyenberg Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam for 46 years. James enjoyed bird watching, stock car races and tinkering on his bikes and car.

James is survived by his wife, Lileh; his children, Judy (Dick) Fritz of Las Vegas, NV, Debra Wendlandt of Juneau, Raymond (Sheralind) Wendlandt of Waupun and June (Bill) Burns of Metamora, MI; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick Wendlandt.

A private memorial service for the family will be held.
