Duane "Whitey" Clayton Schlagel

Duane Clayton Schlagel, age 70 of Waupun, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016, at the Christian Home of Waupun.

Duane was born on April 16, 1946, in Beaver Dam, WI, a son of Edward and Ruby (Schepp) Schlagel. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School, class of 1965. On April 29, 1972, he was united in marriage to Fawn Schnorr at Good Shepherd Church in Beaver Dam. Duane was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church. He enjoyed listening to the Gaither’s and watching Christian TV, as well as hunting and fishing in his pastime. Duane loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and attending their school and sporting events. His sense of humor will be missed by many.

Duane is survived by his wife, Fawn; a daughter, Danielle (Michael) Jansma of Waupun; a son, Derick (Jennifer) Schlagel of Waupun. He is further survived by six grandchildren, Brandon (Caitlynn), Marissa, Jayden Jansma, Nakhila, Brayden and Allisandra Schlagel and a great granddaughter, Lylah Jansma. Two brothers, Kenny (Marlene) Schlagel and Danny (Jan) Schlagel of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Snoopy.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 West Main Street, Waupun, and at Crossroads Fellowship Church formerly Waupun Assembly of God, 846 East Main Street, on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

A celebration of Duane’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Rev. Jeffery Casper officiating.

A memorial fund has been established in Duane’s name.
