Rev. Kenneth Prol

Kenneth Prol, of Friesland, WI passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65 on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Kenneth was born on February 28, 1951 in Paterson, NJ, the son of Gabriel and Rachel (Cooper) Prol. Ken attended Pequannock Township High School. He was united in marriage to Diane Intveld on December 29, 1973. Ken and Diane shared many years of their life in Wantage, NJ and Canajoharie NY, where he owned and operated his own business, Prol’s Painting and Wallpapering. He later changed careers and went into the ministry. The Lord graciously led Ken to serve as a Pastor for 9 years at First Randolph Christian Reformed Church of Friesland. During this time he received his Master’s of Theology degree. He was blessed with the privilege of serving as Hospice Chaplain for Hillside Hospice and Golden Living Center- Continental Manor of Randolph for the past 5 years. Prior to serving the First Randolph CRC he served Trinity CRC in Richfield Springs, NY. Ken was a man who loved sharing stories of his faith with others. He was devoted to his family and his congregation. He loved to ride his bike, and used that time as his prayer time. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren who had known him as “Pop Pop”.

He is survived by his loving wife Diane and their four children, Kelly (Chris) Sanborn of New York, Kenneth (Marisa) Prol of Virginia, Timothy (Stephanie) Prol of New Jersey and Rachel Marquardt of California; three grandchildren, Daniel and Claire Sanborn and Max Marquardt; siblings, Marilyn (Dave) Vroegindewey, Karen Grasso, Janice (Mike) Goeller, Ron (Connie) Prol, Jim Prol and Robert (Rachel) Prol; sister-in-law Cindy Prol, brother-in-law Joe Makatics and father-in-law Adrian Intveld; further survived by his two sisters-in-law, Debra Leifer and Darlene (Bill) Breuer and brother-in-law, Dan Intveld.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Makatics; brother, William Prol; mother-in-law Marie Intveld; brother-in-law, Ken Grasso.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 4-8 pm at First Randolph Christian Reformed Church, N8879 East Friesland Road, Friesland and on Wednesday, September 28th from 10:00 A.M until the time of service.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 28th at First Randolph Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Keith Buist and Pastor Jeff Brower officiating.

A memorial fund may be established to Hillside Hospice or Foods Resource Bank.
