Iral “Ike” Schreiber

Iral William Schreiber, age 93, of Randolph, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at his home.

lke was born on September 9, 1922, in Randolph, a son of William and Hazel (Waterworth) Schreiber. In June of 1946 Ike was united in marriage to Barbara Healy in Cambria, Wisconsin. In 1943, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Ike was in the postal service at Randolph from 1948 until 1980, and was Postmaster for the last 14 years. He was also a member of the Postmasters Association. Golfing was a favorite pastime of his, as he was a member of the Fox Lake Golf Course since 1959. Ike was a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church and was a member of the church council. He was also a member of the Randolph Kiwanis as well as the Masonic Lodge.

Ike is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Rick) Nettesheim of Brodhead, WI and a son, Richard (Carol) Schreiber of Houston, Texas ; 5 grandchildren, Bryn Nettesheim, Neal Nettesheim, Katherine Schreiber, Caroline Schreiber and Blake Schreiber ; a sister, Illa Lattimer ; a brother, Roy Schreiber; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; a sister, Helen (Jerry) Surateaux ; a brother-in-law, Elmer Lattimer; a sister-in-law, Bernice Schreiber.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 North High Street, Randolph.

A funeral service for Ike will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Randolph United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Balson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph VFW Post 9510.

A memorial fund has been directed to the Randolph United Methodist Church or the Scholarship Fund at the Randolph High School.
