Lois Mae Froehlich

Lois Mae Froehlich, 78, of Friesland died on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at home.

Lois was born on October 10, 1937 to Martin and Evelynn (Mc Duffee) Schave, the first of five children. Lois graduated from Cambria High School on Friday, May 27, 1955. She was united in marriage to Donald Froehlich on Sunday, May 29, 1955 at First Presbyterian Church in Cambria. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this past year. Together they lived and farmed in the village of Friesland. Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Friesland and a past member of the Ladies Aid and Home Makers Club. Lois enjoyed gardening, crafts, knitting sweaters, making and sending greeting cards and spending time with family.

Lois is survived by her husband and caretaker, Donald, two daughters; Cindy (John) Pierce of Pardeeville and Diane (Paul) Vander Galien of Lowell; two sons, James (Chris Berger) Froehlich of Cambria and Donald J. (Marsha) Froehlich of Friesland; grandchildren, Katie (Ryan), Val (RJ), Elizabeth (Paul), David (Sarah), Aaron, Matt (Molly) and Justin (friend Nikki); step grandchildren, Tracy (Josh), Jeff, Karen, Fred and Vincent (friend Sara); great grandchildren, Jameson, Hannah, Solomon, Brantley, Lindsay; step great-grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, Liana, Jacob, Brayden, Seth, Sam; step great-great granddaughter, Adrina; sisters, Donna (Herb) Schraepfer of Hollandale, Laurie (Ray) Hamilton of Collins, Mississippi; brother-in-law Norm (Emily) Froehlich of Cambria; sisters-in-law, Audrey Rupnow of Beaver Dam and Marion Jacobson of Portage; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lyle Schave, sister, Virginia (George) Deakin, daughter-in-law, Debra Froehlich, in-laws, Jess and Bertha Froehlich, brothers-in-law, William Rupnow and Darryl Jacobson.

A funeral service for Lois will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 101 First Street, Friesland with Rev. John Unnasch officiating. Burial will follow at the Friesland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday beginning at 9:30 AM until the time of service.
