David Wynne Williams

David Wynne Williams, age 90 of Waupun, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Christian Home Rehabilitation Center of Waupun.

David was born on December 23, 1925 in Ripon, WI, a son of Wynne and Lucy (Splitt) Williams. He graduated from Ripon High School, a true Ripon Tigers fan. On September 29, 1951 he was united in marriage to Catherine “Katie” Burk at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, WI. Following high school he worked on various farms in the Ripon area until he began working for the state. David worked at Waupun Correctional Institution until he retired. David would spend a lot of time on the lake fishing, only a select few people would know his favorite fishing spots. He was a true outdoorsman. David enjoyed his trips to Canada with his grandchildren, hunting quail with his son Dan and duck hunting with his friends. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. David was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

David is survived by three children, Cheryl (David) Eisberner Sr. of Marshfield, WI, Carol (John) Humlie of Rubicon, WI, and Dan (Melanie) Williams of Waupun, WI; Grandchildren, Erin Provenzano of Valparaiso, IN, David (Malika) Eisberner Jr. of Brownsville, MN, Erik (Dana) Eisberner of Port Washington, WI, Michael Eisberner of La Crosse, WI, Breanna (Bob) Bartmann of Hartford, WI, Brendon (Stacey) Humlie of Horicon, WI, David Humlie (Melissa Malone) of Hartford, WI, Wynne Williams (Emily Ebben) of La Crosse, WI, Wesley (Megan) Williams of Waupun, WI, and Wade Williams of Milwaukee, WI; Great Grandchildren, Grace, Elizabeth, Sophia & Isaac Provenzano, Austin and Elizabeth Newlun, Henry Humlie and Liam Williams; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine “Katie” Williams, a sister, Marion “MaryLou” Williams, in-laws, sisters and brothers-in-law, a niece and two nephews.

Out of respect for David’s wishes, private services were held.
